Hundreds of spectators and at least 20 volunteers with Hawai'i Marine Animal Response gathered at Kaimana Beach to watch the release of an injured female Hawaiian Green Sea turtle (Honu). A volunteer with the Non-Profit stated the animal was at least 13 years old and rescued at remediated before its morning release.
Local Media, Police, and Volunteers lined the pathways leading into the ocean.
Hawai'i Marine Animal Response (HMAR) is the largest Hawai'i-based nonprofit marine species field response, rescue, stranding support and conservation organization.
