Share
We attended the soft opening of the Hawai'i Surf Museum and Center of Radical Education on March 14th, 2025 to the start of something never seen before at the Sugar Mill on the North Shore. A week later we came back to sit down with Big Wave Surf Pioneer Darrick Doerner for a one-on-one tour through the Museum as well as a history lesson on how Darrick, Laird, and Buzzy pioneered tow surfing to escape the crowds at Waimea Bay. As well as the discovery of Pe'ahi commonly known as Jaws in the early 90s before more people had figured out it was even surfable.
